NBA YoungBoy Thanks Trump For Presidential Pardon On Gun Charges

NBA YoungBoy is officially off the hook after Donald Trump granted him a presidential pardon, wiping clean the remaining conditions of his sentence related to federal weapons charges.
The Louisiana-born rapper, who had been serving home arrest following a two-year prison sentence, expressed gratitude for the unexpected move:
“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist.”
Though the White House has not publicly explained the decision, this continues a pattern of support from Trump toward prominent hip hop artists. During his previous term, he granted clemency to both Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, with their philanthropic efforts cited as partial reasons for the pardons.
Trump’s track record with the culture has been polarizing but undeniably impactful — and YoungBoy now joins the list of artists who have benefited.
Back in 2021, Wayne avoided jail time on federal gun charges thanks to a pardon just before sentencing. Similarly, Kodak Black had his sentence shortened while serving time on a separate weapons conviction.
Rumors are now swirling around potential future pardons, with figures like Diddy—currently facing serious legal issues—being mentioned as possible candidates if convicted. Meanwhile, Suge Knight, still behind bars, has also publicly voiced appreciation for Trump’s previous actions.
As for YoungBoy, the pardon means he’s free to continue his music career and personal journey without court restrictions hanging over his head.
