Lil Durk Slams FBI Informant as ‘Unreliable’ in Ongoing Murder-For-Hire Case

Lil Durk is fighting back against the federal government’s case against him, with his legal team challenging the credibility of a key FBI informant in his ongoing murder-for-hire trial.

According to court filings, Durk’s attorneys claim the prosecution is building its case on unreliable information from “CHS 1,” a paid informant with a criminal past. The rapper’s lawyer, Drew Findling, argued that the allegations are baseless and that Durk — real name Durk Banks — has never been charged in the federal Illinois case the informant references.

“The government’s own exhibit reveals that the allegations… are based primarily on information from a cooperating human source… a paid FBI informant and former gang member,” Findling stated.

Durk Seeks Bail, Denies He’s a Threat

Durk’s team has submitted a $4.5 million bail package, including $3 million in personal funds. They’ve also proposed house arrest and 24/7 private security to ensure he doesn’t flee.

Despite these measures, federal prosecutors argue that the Chicago drill rapper is a danger to the community and claim he’s used his wealth to promote violence. The court has yet to decide whether Durk will be granted bond.

The Case: Revenge for King Von?

The charges allege that Durk ordered a murder-for-hire hit targeting Quando Rondo in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von — a close friend and artist under Durk’s Only The Family (OTF) label. The failed attack reportedly resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin instead.

Prosecutors previously attempted to use Durk’s lyrics — particularly from “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy” — as evidence, claiming the song described the alleged plot. However, the judge ruled the lyrics inadmissible, citing that the track was released months before the 2022 incident.

What’s Next for Lil Durk?

As Durk awaits the court’s decision on bail, the legal battle continues to unfold. The stakes are high, with both his freedom and reputation on the line. His defense remains firm: the case is built on shaky ground and false testimony.
