Kai Cenat Questions Eminem’s AMA Win Over Kendrick Lamar

Eminem’s sweep at the American Music Awards has stirred debate, with streamer Kai Cenat leading the conversation.
During a livestream, Cenat reacted live to Slim Shady winning Favorite Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album, beating out fan-favorite Kendrick Lamar.
“Let’s be real. I f**k with Slim Shady, but let’s be real though, gang,” Cenat said, visibly stunned.
Many fans expected Kendrick to dominate the hip-hop categories following a massive year of milestones — including his record-setting $14.8 million show in Seattle and chart-topping singles like “Not Like Us” and “Luther” with SZA.
Despite six nominations, Kendrick only took home Favorite Hip Hop Song for “Not Like Us.” Other key losses included Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, both of which went to Billie Eilish.
Even Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga edged out Kendrick and SZA for Collaboration of the Year with “Die With A Smile,” which also beat “Not Like Us” for Favorite Music Video.
While Eminem’s win is being celebrated by many of his longtime fans, Kai’s reaction has sparked renewed debate over how awards reflect the current pulse of the culture.
